Research Fellow - AHEC - 70014

Location: Galveston, TX
Min Qualifications

Master’s degree in Public Health (MPH) or closely related field; at least 1-year experience with data management and analysis, excellent written and oral communication skills 

Salary Range

Commensurate with experience

Specific Job Related Duties
  • Provide data management on multiple grants/contracts 

  • Collect, analyze, and prepare final form documents from primary and secondary data sources for publication and presentation 

  • Directly input data into federal and other grant-required reporting systems, data entry/cleaning as required 

  • Assist with evaluation of AHEC Scholars program, including participating in statewide evaluation initiatives, activities, and meetings 

  • Utilize RedCap for AHEC regional data management, including, but not limited to, setup of databases, assisting regional directors/coordinators with troubleshooting, and ensuring accurate data entry by performing routine spot checks 

  • Assist with grant/contract report compilation, grant/contract renewal applications, new grant/contract applications 

  • Assist with evaluation of AIDS Education Training Center (AETC) programs, including data collection, analysis, and reporting 

  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge regarding Practice Transformation work within the AETC paradigm 

  • Engage all Local Performance Sites in communication of best-practices and updates regarding Practice Transformation 

  • Ensure evaluation of Practice Transformation work across region is consistent with HRSA/AETC national standards 

  • Work with UTMB student service organizations to coordinate Galveston County community health efforts across organizations and integrate into UTMB initiatives 

  • Position may necessitate travel within the Texas AHEC East region and domestic conferences/meetings 

Preferred Education

DrPH or closely related terminal degree, 3 years related experience, previous experience in community health research, knowledge of Area Health Education Centers (AHECs), HIV related research, program implementation, experience with federal reporting procedures/systems (e.g. HRSA EHB), experience with RedCap, and ability to work with multiple teams on multiple projects
