Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field and 7 years related experience.
Function: Provides operational leadership and recommendations for overall strategic direction, as well as tactical execution for all aspects of Supply Chain Logistics Operations for all UTMB campuses outside of the Operating Room, Cath Lab, EP Lab and Interventional Radiology areas. This includes but is not limited to: acquisition, receiving, shipping, storage, distribution, utilization management, medical and non-medical gases, medical and non-medical supplies, equipment and materials, US Mail as well as disposal of expired products and supplies in support of all UTMB business units to ensure all products are available in a timely fashion. Directly accountable for the deployment and management of effective and efficient processes and systems for Supply Chain Logistics activities supporting the institution to include direct oversight of supply inventory in Health System areas of Clinical Nursing, Store Rooms and Warehouse with indirect oversight of Operating Room, Cath lab, EP Lab and Interventional Radiology areas. Periodically acts as back up for the Director of Logistics – Periop/Procedure Areas.

Specific Job Related Duties
Develops and implements tactical solutions for the effective management of supply chain related processes across UTMB Supply Chain primarily in the Operating Room, .Cath Lab, EP lab and Interventional Radiology areas.
Performs operational administration and management of the Periop/Procedure Logistics functions including; assessing process performance; assessing staff performance; identifying improvement opportunities; implementing changes or new programs; developing/implementing operational policies and procedures to ensure efficient operations and reduce operating costs.
Supervises staff including hiring, training, performance appraisal, and discipline up to and including termination.
Implements effective evaluative, instructional, developmental and coaching techniques to optimize the effectiveness and knowledge, skills, and abilities of assigned work teams.
Ensures compliance with internal controls, applicable UTMB, State and Federal rules and regulations.
Develops and manages operational plans for Periop/Procedure Logistics functions, as well as organizing, staffing and supervising assigned staff.
Acts as a key participant in development and management of all Materials Management Logistics software along with the other Director of Logistics.
Work closely with customers and service/process areas to resolve problems/issues.
Identifies key customers and forecasts customers’ needs.
- Adheres to departmental and institutional internal controls and reporting structure.

Master’s in Business
AHRMM Certification, ACHE certification, or NIGP certification is desired.
- Extensive knowledge of materials receiving, delivery, and inventory process principles, concepts, techniques and methodologies.
- Strong working knowledge of applicable UTMB policies and procedures, UT System regulations, state and federal laws.

- Clinical background and experience is preferred especially related to supply in the Operating Room, Cath Lab, EP Lab or Interventional Radiology Areas.
