Min Qualifications
High school or equivalent; 2 years related experience, 85% spelling accuracy, type 40 words per minute. JOB DESCRIPTION: To provide clerical, secretarial, and office administrative support to a process or area ensuring operational administrative process continuity.
Specific Job Related Duties
  • Up to 19 and 1/2 work hours per week and is non-benefit bearing position
  • Manage registration and membership data and process payments from members.
  •  Assist with curriculum development and publication including posting on OLLI website
  •  Assist with set-up for classrooms and OLLI activities and events, including rearranging classroom tables and chairs (must be physically able to move light weight tables and folding chairs)
  •  Assist with A/V, computer, and other classroom needs
  •  Prepare classroom handouts and flyers for general distribution 
  • Coordinate certain OLLI special events under direction of OLLI staff which may sometimes entail working evenings or weekends
  • Represent OLLI at public functions, sometimes with OLLI display board and handouts
  •  Occasionally drive to League City or Houston to assist with OLLI classes at those locations
  •  Drive to campus from 4700 Broadway to deliver items to Development Office, Bursar, mail room, etc.
  • Originate and type correspondence
  • Complete database entry and reporting

 

 


Work Schedule

This is up to a 19 and 1/2 work hours per week position which is non-benefit bearing 


Preferred Education

Some formal college credits, college degree preferred; 


Preferred Skill/Competency

Microsoft Office:  Outlook, Word, Excel

Willing to become proficient with computer set-up, PowerPoint projectors, other A/V equipment

 


Preferred Work Experience

2 years related experience, familiarity with special needs and characteristics of aging individuals.
