Min Qualifications Bachelor's degree in basic science or equivalent and 5 years of related experience or Master's degree in basic science or equivalent and 3 years of related experience required. JOB DESCRIPTION: Conducts a variety of non-routine research assignments and experiments. Salary Range

$43,360 - $54,200 annually, commensurate with experience.

Specific Job Related Duties

Plan, coordinate and direct moderately complex research experiments following general technical procedures.

Establish and oversee quality control measures for assigned project operations.

Make minor modification to research procedures as determined by Principal Investigator.

Contribute to scientific analysis and interpretation of projects.

Maintain records of all tests performed and data collected, compile and tabulate data, provide analysis of results.

Confer with lab staff regarding results obtained and receive suggestions for modification to procedures and interpretation of final data.

Ensure the accurate assembly, calibration, operation and modification of a variety of laboratory equipment as defined by appropriate guidelines.

Make minor modifications and repairs to equipment as necessary.

Independently performs literature searches as outlined by the Principal Investigator.

Oversee lab inventory of supplies and equipment.

Lab manager duties, such as ordering lab items, writing manuscripts and applying for funding.

May provide guidance to junior research staff.

Adhere to internal controls established for department.

Perform related duties as required.

Preferred Skill/Competency

Animal maintenance, PCR, animal breeding, mouse in vivo surgery for primary sensory neurons, especially Dorsal Root Ganglia and Trigeminal Ganglia, and confocal and multiphoton in vivo animal imaging, pharmacological and behavioral experiments, western blot, In situ, immunostaining(IHC) experiments
