Police Department Mission:
The University of Texas Medical Branch Police Department strives to provide protection and service in a courteous manner to the faculty, staff, students, patients, and visitors of UTMB in conformance with the Regents rules and Regulations, UTMB policies, or federal, state, or local laws and ordinances. The Department also implements programs that are aimed at preserving the assets of UTMB.
From $23,600 To $35,040 Annually
Specific Job Related Duties
Completion of a pass/fail physical agility test will be required.
Must pass a drug screen, polygraph, and thorough background investigation
This position requires completion of the typing test with a minimum score of 20 words per minute. You must complete this testing at the approved location prior to being considered for this position.
If you are a current UTMB employee, you may still need to take the typing test if it has been longer than a 180 days, or if your current position did not require scores of 20 words per minute or better.

Once you have passed the required testing, please submit your application. If you had already applied before testing you will have to reapply once you have passed the tests.
Your scores will be kept on file for one year.
UTMB PD Police Guards are employed with the UTMB PD Police Department.
UTMB PD Police Department is a 24/7 full-service Police Agency and provides 24/7 Police Security Services to UTMB owned, rented, and leased property. Police staff are assigned to work varying shifts based on seniority to cover 24/7 Police Service Areas and shift periods.
Police Guards Must be willing to work assigned shift, which may include day-shift, evening-shift, or over-night midnight shifts.
Police Guards must be willing to work in adverse weather conditions, which may include summer heat, winter cold, rain, and or hurricane situations.
