Specific Job Related Duties
Responsible for building, maintaining and enhancing EDW solutions built on SQL Server environment.
Responsible for architecture, design, development and assisting in administration of SQL Server databases.
Design, implement, and maintain complex database code using T-SQL and SSIS.
Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges).
Provide end to end BI solutions.
Participate in the quality assurance on the systems to keep our platform accurate and reliable.
Provide routine production support duties on a rotational basis during off-hours and weekends.
Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
Execute projects using agile development techniques.
8 am to 5 pm (rotational after hour on-call support)
Location: Clear Lake/Webster (Primary) / Galveston (Secondary)
BS/BA in related field or equivalent relevant work experience.
MCDBA - Microsoft Certified Database Administrator.
Advanced skills and experience with data modeling (Logical and Physical).
Advanced skills in system architecture and design.
The ability to translate user requirements into a data design which facilitates user access/reporting.
Strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills.
Preferred Work Experience
3+ years of experience building complex database applications in SQL Server preferably in EDW setting.
Experience in SQL Server 2012, SQL Server 2014 and/ or SQL Server 2016.
Strong experience with T-SQL, DTS, SSIS, Data Mining, OLAP, SSAS, Cubes and MDX.
Experience in data warehouse design and handling large volumes of data.
Experience with database administration, performance tuning and troubleshooting.
Strong experience of providing cross training on technologies and operational processes to colleagues.
Experience working with Health Catalyst EDW & building its applications.
Business Intelligence and reporting experience (e.g., Qlik, Tableau or OBIEE) is a plus.
Experience in Healthcare industry.
Experience successfully leading projects.
Experience and understanding of business terms used by hospitals and academic medical centers.
Experience with the following data sources: PeopleSoft (Financial Management System, Human Capital Management, and Campus Solutions), Epic Clarity, Kronos, EPSi, and Press Ganey.
Knowledge of cloud solutions is a plus.
