The University of Texas Medical Branch Professor - Plastic Surgery - Burn Reconstruction in Galveston, Texas
Candidates should be a graduate of an approved medical school, have completed an approved residency training in Plastic Surgery and a fellowship program in surgical critical care or burn reconstruction, be Certified/Board Eligible in Plastic Surgery and have a Texas Medical license without restrictions.
Specific Job Related Duties
This position is meant to provide faculty support needed to meet the teaching, research and patient care needs of the Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic Surgery, and assist in fulfilling UTMB’s threefold mission. This positions primary responsibility will include, but are not limited to, serving as faculty in the Division of Plastic Surgery, caring for patients in Shriners Hospital Galveston and in UTMB and TDCJ Hospitals and Clinics, and participating in the plastic surgery call schedule. Responsibilities will also include development of offsite clinical outreach programs and participation in other off-island clinical activities, including increasing physician referrals to UTMB.
In addition, the person in this position will have administrative responsibilities including supervising and evaluating residents, providing medical direction and participating in committee memberships at the departmental and Health System level.
