The University of Texas Medical Branch Compensation Manager - Human Resource Services in Galveston, Texas
Bachelor's degree in related field and 6 years of directly-related exempt level experience with 3 years of supervisory experience.
Assists the Director of Compensation by providing oversight and management of Compensation's operations within Human Resources, as well as provide expert level consultation, guidance and direction to other human resources professionals, institutional leadership and customers. The Manager of Compensation provides in-depth content expertise and project management in the design, development and implementation of plans, programs, projects, and policies and practices. Readily assumes leadership responsibilities and functions autonomously in leadership role with institutional leadership, customers, and within the HR department.
$110,700.00 to $140,220.00, actual salary depends on experience.

Specific Job Related Duties
Coaches and supervises staff including analyzing workload, determining work priority, assigning duties, overseeing work progress and staff development. Translates strategy into operational direction and performs complex analysis and administration. Performs annual staff performance evaluations and develops criteria for hiring and discipline situations
Extensive experience with Comp Analyst
Manages the compensation program including the salary planning process. Collaborates with other departments to design and administer a Total Rewards philosophy.
Provides leadership, guidance and recommendations to executive management, department consultants and institutional leaders regarding compensation initiatives.
Designs and presents various compensation topics as needed internal or external to the institution.
Manages the development and preparation of the annual UT System reports based on System’s schedule.
Manages and administers employee/salary approval process as required by UT System; and interfaces with UT System and various other UT component counterparts for all compensation related issues.
Provides strategic recommendations for Compensation initiatives at the institutional level and assists in certain components of executive compensation.
Provides advanced business solutions to HR Consultants/Customers including advanced data analysis related to market and/or internal equity as well as consultative services to evaluate, analyze, recommends, and implement positions, job descriptions, and career ladders.
Provides advanced technical and analytical support in the market pricing and salary survey processes to ensure market competitiveness and stewardship of resources as well as reliable job evaluation methodology.
Manages and participates in the implementation, testing and support of compensation computer applications to streamline and automate work processes.
Coordinates special projects and provides leadership in identifying and resolving compensation issues.
Participates in institutional task forces focused on compensation program initiatives and communications.
Ensures that all compensation programs and practices are in compliance with all federal and state regulatory requirements and agencies. Directs corrective action where appropriate.
Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.

Ability to manage multiple complex projects and prioritize work.
Monday through Friday, 8AM to 5PM.
Preferred Work Experience
Compensation experience in Healthcare. Academic Medical Center experience preferred.
Strong understanding of the unique requirements of market pricing healthcare jobs.
